Transfer Option Question
Hi all, I'm currently considering moving my stocks and shares ISA from Fidelity (Cavendish) to Vanguard. Having done a fair bit of reading I'm pretty sure of the fund I would like invest in, however I had a quick question I'm struggling to get my head around and wondered if anyone could share their thoughts? I'd like to be…

YBS Reg Saver Why ?
I wonder why YBS settled on 3.50% for their new Regular saver ? What's in it for them, that they couldn't get for offering 3% or 2% etc ? 3.05% would have taken them to the top of the savings chart ( with a few exceptions from some restricted accounts) with all the publicity that that would have gotten them. I wouldn't…

Possible Scam
I received a phone call from a company called Corporate Finance Solutions Inc re some ARM shares
which I sold before a takeover by a Japanese Co. about 5 years ago, suggesting that
the deal could have been fraudulent and between the lines hinting I might be in
for a payout. They subsequently sent the
attached e mail…

Savings Account with multiple pots
Hi, I've currently got an Intelligent Finance Current Account and Savings Account (I took my off set mortgage out with them when off-set mortgages where a new thing many many years ago). For various reasons now I'm looking for another bank for my savings. However, one of the things that I really do like about IF is that in…

Children's savings or Lifetime ISA?
Hi all, About to start saving for my daughter and been looking at savings accounts. I reach age 60 around the time she will be able to access any money from this, so it got me thinking. Does it make sense to open a Lifetime ISA in my name to get 25% interest a year (up to £1k) and then withdraw at 60 and give to her?…

Sanity checking that an "investment bond" is sensible?
Hello, I am new to posting on the forum (although have lurked for a little while in reading before building up the courage!). I am faced with a decision about how to invest what to me is a terrifying sum of money - initially around £200k, but in 6 months could rise to around £400k. It represents the proceeds from selling…

Multiple Large Sums Into ISA
Hello All. I want to fully utilise my 20/21 ISA allowance before the tax year ends. I have chosen a Vanguard S+S ISA. My bank will allow me to transfer 10,000 without a fee, but anything lager will cost 20 quid. My question is this, am I allowed to make two lump sum payments? I can't find any information on the Vanguard…

Atom Bank Interest Rate
I'm confused, I have an Instant saver with Atom Bank, on my app the rate is showing as 0.5%, however, the website shows the rate as 0.37%. This is obviously the rate for new applicants so am I correct in assuming that they have maintained the 0.5% for the original account holders?

Mid-term investment for a 17 year old. Ideas?
My father has given to me, for my son, £2,000 to give to him when he buys his first home. My father does not expect to be alive when my son buys his first home, so this sum needs to be tucked away somewhere safe for at least 5 years. I don't really want my son to know about it. The gift is something my father did for each…

Interactive JISA to ISA conversion headache
So it seems II insist on a utility bill (amongst other ID documents) to convert a childs JISA to ISA when they turn 18. As an 18 year old who has always lived at home my son has never received a utility bill. Bank statements are on-line, and home printed certified copies are not accepted. We sent the original government…

Sold house - where to put equity?
Hi there. I've just sold my house and now have £45,000 in my account. I'm not buying another house and will be renting instead for the foreseeable future. International wire transfer gone wrong
Hi all! I recently (2 months ago) did an online wire transfer from a well-known share-dealing company in the US mistakenly not using an IBAN or BIC and have been trying to chase where my money had gone.
