No, you won’t, the post office has nothing to do with National Savings anymore and they don’t deal with their products anymore.
You will need to fill in the form on this page and send it to them:

NS&I will do a search to see if the product was cached in - having the book is no guarantee there is anything in there.1 -
I remember these from the 1950's. They were small paper books obtainable from the Post Office, in which savings stamps bought across the Post Office counter could be stuck. I understand that they can be redeemed at face value by the National Savings and Investments people but as each stamp is worth only two and a half pence, you might get more as a collector-item - if you can find someone willing to buy the book (sell online perhaps ? ).

I'm happy to see this thread as only recently I was mentioning to a friend that at my junior school we participated in buying National Savings Stamps & it was a way to encourage us youngsters to save. I remember how enjoyable it was to lick the stamps to place in the books & how exciting it was when you'd almost filled one whole page. Not many people seem to remember the existence of these savings stamp books & it's the sort of thing I'd love to own for the sheer nostalgia. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
