Ive got my rainy days fund of £12k in my saving account at 0.01% so well below the inflation rate. I cant afford to lose this money so investing in shares is out of question. How does a mutual fund and EFT fit in?
I understand the difference between a unit fund and an investment trust i.e. a unit fund is open ended and an investment trust is closed ended (quoted on a stock exchange). Can't a new ISA and SIPP even merely be opened without any investment subscription?
It is clear to me I can not open a new S&S ISA until April 6 2021 because I have already funded one in this 2020/21 tax year. Does this mean I have to wait until April 6 to be able to transfer to another provider as I also can not open a new ISA even if it is left unsubscribed at zero? I can't find clear wording on this…

Gold and Silver coins as an investment?
I don't currently own any Gold,Silver or Platinum coins and wondered if they should form part of the portfolio, thinking of the double whammy of precious metal and collectability. Investing our children's inheritance in a managed portfolio
Our two kids (aged 6 and 9) were lucky enough to inherit 150,000 each when my mum passed away last year. We currently live overseas and so our options for investing in the UK are actually quite limited. We have been working with an IFA who has proposed an onshore bond wrapper which seems sensible for tax and administrative…
