Probably a very simple question RE stock value gain
Hi all, apologies if this is a stupidly simple question. I am a new young investor who has just opened up a stocks and shares isa with Hargreaves Lansdown. I've bought a round number of shares in a company which have seen some gains over the past few days but I can't figure out the maths behind them and am wondering…

When to transfer savings from Brazil?
I live in the UK with my partner, who is from Brazil. We're still renting currently, but we're keen to save up so that we can finally buy our first property together. I have just over £20k saved up so far, which isn't really quite enough for us to get started. My partner has about 250k Brazilian real in savings (about…

Is there any point changing to a different easy access savings account?
I currently have a bit over £30K in a Nationwide Loyalty Saver 15yr, which was paying 1.1% AER and has now dropped to 0.25%. I see there are some other easy access accounts paying 1.2%, but is there any real point switching? All these other accounts are variable rate from day one, and I presume they will soon be following…

Is it safe to move money / have money in the "ether" at the moment?
As the title says really. I want to move some money from an ISA with one provider to another ISA with another provider, but am wondering if now is a safe time to do so? I just don't know whether financial transactions are being affected by the current Covid crisis. I don't want to lose money! Can anyone comment on whether…

Any best child trust fund rate?

Inaccurate trading price
Hi all, I've got a question for you guys. Earlier today, I saw that Ryanair's stock price had plummeted to €0.095. I purchased 1000 shares at the price. However, Trading212 have closed all my positions as there was an 'error' on their part. Do I have a leg to stand on here? My position was validly opened, and registered as…

Anyone else invested in TRX? Interested in your opinions
I started investing in TRX at the back end of last year, and currently have approx 3k invested, which is currently running at a loss. My average is 1.1p. Whilst I am tempted to invest more, I'm also mindful of their current financial situation, particularly in this current crisis, despite the fact that they have just…

Share Buying Platform/Route
Hi Many years ago I was quite active buying/selling shares. At that time I used Interactive Investor. The intention is to hold them for a…

Linked regular saver
Having had notification that my Coventry regular saver I just opened is dropping it’s rate I’m wondering if there are better accounts to drip feed into. Is it possible to open a bank account with a linked regular saver but not actually use it as your main bank account? I don’t want to truly switch bank accounts as I like…

Want to invest my savings in stocks and let sit for years
Hi all, I'm looking at buying some very well known stocks and holding them for years. In my opinion, I'll get a better return than the money just sitting in the bank. I always thought it would be straight forward in buying stocks but it seems there's recurring fees to think about and if the brokerage went bust I'd also…

Inaccurate Information From Investment Management Company - My Rights?
I had a general investment account (therefore, taxable) with a "robo investor" provider to earn the sign-up bonus, and I closed my account after I received the bonus. Now after the 2019-20 tax year ended, I received a consolidated tax certificate from them for the tax year, but clearly it is wrong. (Technical details at…

Investec 95 Day Notice account no longer in best buy list?
I have recently applied an Investec 95 day notice account which took over 10 days to finally open from my original application following a recommendation in Martins list of best buy notice savings accounts, which in itself caused a little anxiety due to the length of time it took to finally open. I am about to transfer…
