I’ve had a refund cheque from DVLA for road tax .... (why they sent a cheque when it was paid online I don’t know but hey) I don’t want to go into a branch .... is there a Santander postal pay in address ?

Cheque Deposits

If you need to pay a cheque into your account urgently, you can do so by posting it to your local branch. If your branch is currently closed, a postal redirection service will ensure we still receive your cheque.  (Please don’t hand deliver to your branch if it’s closed).

When sending a cheque to your local branch, please follow these instructions:

• If you have a paying in slip, complete this and send it with the cheque.
• If you don’t, please write your postcode, sort code and account number the cheque is to be credited to on the back of the cheque. Without this information we will not be able to pay in your cheque.
• As a precaution, please keep a note of the cheque details.
• We will do our very best to clear the cheque to your account as soon as possible, however there may be a slight delay.

If you have a smartphone and (as) the cheque is for less than £500, you could

1. open a Starling account in minutes
2. use their mobile cheque pay-in feature
3. when the cheque is cleared, transfer the money online to your Santander account
