I know for many people times right now are not the best.but having said that I am wondering if now is a good time to invest in a isa. either cash or stocks & shares. presumably with oil prices through the floor and the whole world in the dolldrums, things will get slowly better taking what ever I invest up with it. just trying to think positive and look forward. any advice appreciated. thanks.

That's one of the possible outcomes.

You will receive the same advice as everybody else who has asked the same question about stocks and shares investments during the last month ' Trying to time the markets is difficult  as we can not predict the future , so don't bother trying'
Of course some people are optimistic that markets have reached a bottom and others the opposite . Most of us just sit tight and carry on as usual.
By the way cash ISA's are unaffected by stock market movements and are  completely different to S&S ISA's

Now is a great time to be thinking about investing, as there's such a plethora of forum threads asking much the same question, it's easier than ever to research it....

See Kuratowski's link above. Don't waste your time replying to this bogus thread. Some people are very strange indeed.

That's something that actually fascinates me as you see this behaviour on a lot of forums. Any psychologists here, can explain why people feel the need to do this?

Can you not see how people would see it as odd that you would ask 'if now is a good time to invest' when according to a previous thread you started (and as said did not return to) you have already invested in the stock market?
