I do have s&s isa, thats correct.but what I was asking is it a good idea to buy more s&s as the markets are so low at the moment.ie buy low-sell high. since I made my original post I have spoken to a financial advisor from my isa provider. apparently since I made my first post on here my isa has recovered 25% of its loss.so I've decided to leave everything where it is for now, and see what the score is when and if we emerge from the current crisis. hope this makes things clear to you, and certain other people on here.0

It would take most people more than four hours to get to grips with investing. Glad you have such a responsive financial advisor.clive0510 said:Since I made my original post I have spoken to a financial advisor from my isa provider. . . I've decided to leave everything where it is for now

I was at one stage thinking of buying a car park space at gatwick airport. you pay around 20,000 to 25,000 to the parking company for the space and you get a cut of what ever that space makes. but I,m glad I didnt go for it because I read on here earlier that its a scam.0

Yes, it's a perfect time to invest.
The longer you are invested, the greater the statistical probability of making a profit. The chance of making a loss on a balanced tracker investment dwindles to well under 10% once you are invested for 4 years and near 0% once you are invested for 10 years. So, time in the market helps.
And of course markets are lower right now, so while there may well be further drops, you want to be buying low rather than buying high.
Certainly much less risky than a ridiculous scheme like buying car park spaces. That's extremely risk, since you are taking big investment risk (i.e. the risk that nobody will want to use the car parking spaces) and counterparty risk (i.e. there's an enormous risk that the company selling you those spaces will no longer exist in a few year's time, and your money will be gone with it).1 -
