Hi folks, I've been given a Barclays share certificate and I'm clueless as to what to do. I'm clearly not an investor and I could do with the cash. The trouble is they're worth £80 and it looks like it's gonna cost me a huge chunk of this to sell the ruddy things. Any tips on the cheapest way to get rid (that's simple…

You CAN pay into cash ISA in 2015/16 and then use Help to Buy ISA later
Martin recently made an unhelpful tweet "WARNING just revealed, if you want a Help 2 Buy ISA, don't open a cash ISA after 6 April or you lose your chance (this link to an article that repeats the error)". For those who don't know the ISA rules well enough, you can do this. Unless specifically prohibited by new law there…

Santander 123 2 Year Fixed Rate ISA. Advice.
Hi everyone, So I'm new to the whole "Emergency Fund" and recently decided it was probably a good idea to get one started. I have always had a Cash ISA with Santander bit recently upgraded this to a 123 2 year fixed rate. I used to shuffle my money between my Santander accounts (cash Isa to 123 current and vice versa). How does the vesting of stock options work?
This is probably a silly question, but I just want to clarify how the vesting of stock options work. Let's say for example that I've been given £100k worth of stock options at work - and 25% of that vests every year for the first four years that I'm with the company. I'm assuming that once my first year is up (and assuming…

Long Term Investment Strategy - Mark Shipman
I would like to research the investing system Mark Shipman wrote about in his book Big Money Little Effort. The basic strategy is investing in an index when its 30 week smoothed moving average is above the 50 week smoothed moving average. Results from 1957 in the S&P 500 is impressive but I would like to see if other…
