mid 40's - Saving towards retirement

I've been hanging around this forum for a while now, hoping to absorb some useful information - would like your thoughts on the simple saving/investing plan that is forming in my head.
bit of background - 44 years old, not a home owner, hence not wanting to tie all my money up in a pension, I can't afford a suitable home locally right now, but wouldn't want to miss out if an opportunity presented itself in the years to come!
I'm self employed and have a DB pension already in place from a previous employer that means the benefits of a pension are not as great for me as for most (the DB+state pension will together take me into being a basic rate tax payer)
So
40% Vanguard Lifestrategy 80 (s/s ISA wrapper)
This being the funds that are being saved towards retirement, but could potentially be accessed earlier if needed
20% Vanguard Lifestrategy 100
10% CF Woodford Equity Income
10% Marlborough UK Micro Cap Growth
All in a SIPP wrapper
20% Ratesetter 5 year market, all interest reinvested until I need an income from it.
Leaves me at approx 10% bonds, 70% equities, 20% P2P
TIA

Good luck with your saving mission MadMat.
Are you married? Got kids? When do you want to retire? How much would you like to retire on? How much have you currently saved? How much can you save a year? What does your company that you work for offer in terms of pension contributions? My Goal: From 1st of Jan 2015 to 31st of December 2015 is to save 30000.
48.78% towards 2015 target.
105.3% towards 2014 target. :j0
