Yorkshire Building Society Consolidation

Does anyone know if the Yorkshire Building Society has any plans to consolidate all the building societies they own, rather than retaining the separate brand names of Barnsley, Chelsea and Norwich and Peterborough?

Just interested to know. The Yorkshire seem to have a different stance from say the Nationwide who have binned the Cheshire, Derbyshire and Dunfermline brand names recently. I wondered if anyone knew the reason why the Yorkshire was choosing to retain the separate names.

I wonder why they have given the Chelsea and N&P the same branding style as YBS although although different colour schemes, but left Barnsley with it's own original branding.

They're just slow. They changed the N&P branding quite a while ago, last year I think, but they only updated the Chelsea a few weeks/couple of months ago. The Barnsley only has about six branches, so it will be last in the queue.
