Money from grandparents
My parents-in-law wish to put £10k each, for my 2 daughters into a long term savings account until they reach 18. My husband and I have seen an account which we like but are still confused as to how much can be deposited in one go. The account can have up to £50k in it. Neither my husband or I work, so we can't have…

I'm hoping someone out there can help me as my brain is well and truly hurting! There are various options available, from selling immediately either all of the shares or…

Saving for Shared Equity Mortgage Pay Off
Hi I purchased my house using a shared equity deal in 2011. As part of the deal, I in effect have a secured loan on my property for 25% of its value when I purchase it (£56k). The loan is interest free for the first five years, and bears an interest rate of 3% thereafter. The loan is repayable in 10 years from the date of…

Euros transfer from abroad.
A friend has an inheritance cleared in Germany around 10000 € in a savings bank. Would there be a more cost effective way of getting it to his Lloyds current account or Building Soc here? I'm assuming the bank charges (and conversion) might be expensive but have no experiences in this area.

£150k to invest
I have £150K to invest. I'm more interested in income than capital growth in the short/medium term as school fees are accounting for a large chunk of our earned income, and extra income would make our day to day lives more comfortable. Of course, I don't want to erode the lump sum if at all possible, and capital gains are…
