Its wasn't Mr Kodogo was it? Story about the gold being lost in a mid air collision, and his brother who was the insurance broker died suddenly, and something about a church, and a military dictator?

I've already bought it off him, paid by Western Union. Used my life savings of £60,000, but when it arrives, I'll be able to sell it for a few million quid.

I negotiated a good price to buy his gold a sent him a 10% deposit, but he never turned up. I was waiting at the airport when he texted to say he was sorry but hadn't been able to get on the plane. Easyjet told him his bags were to heavy.

Would you take camels instead of cows? It's just the sheik who will buy our vintage car has offered eight camels for it, and we don't have anywhere to keep them yet.

Reminds me of a (true) story in Serbia, where a car was swapped for 5 cows.

In fairness, in Serbia a cow is worth about £600, but still gave me a laugh.....

A few years ago, I was involved in heavy negotiations with an "American military contractor" who found a packing case containing a vast amount of $US burried in Iraq and if I helped him to get it shipped to Europe, he would pay me $10 million.

I set up a disposable e-mail account and I became Hans Frodo, director of shipping for British Airways in London.
I managed a few e-mails with the gentleman concerned (Mr Stephen Gay) and he even sent me a copy of his US driving licence and military ID:

It looked so genuine and untouched that I believed that it was real!.
I'll have a look and see if I can find the e-mail account that I used as some of the correspondance was quite interesting.
