A friend has an inheritance cleared in Germany around 10000 € in a savings bank.
Would there be a more cost effective way of getting it to his Lloyds current account or Building Soc here? I'm assuming the bank charges (and conversion) might be expensive but have no experiences in this area.

I have used https://www.currencyfair.com to move the proceeds of the sale of a house in France to my UK bank account and it all went well. The costs were minimal and the exchange rates were excellent.0
