ETF query
Not committed yet, but I'm thinking of adding a Latin American ETF to my portfolio. There being no Vanguard offering (yet), it looks like the main choice is between HMLA or LTAM. They both seem to have a similar basis. Given that the former is quite a bit cheaper (0.6% TER v. 0.74%) with a higher yield, why would anyone…

Just a post for information purposes. Halifax just emailed me with their new charges post RDR. It will be £12.50 to buy/sell the new 'clean' funds (currently £0). Existing funds will be switched over to their clean equivalents from end of Jan. They did not mention a change to annual admin charges but these are currently…

I'm thinking of transferring an existing ISA of £50k into the Selftrade Cash ISA @ 1.96%. It offers instant no penalty access and the guaranteed included bonus for 12 months is 1.71%. This beats the other alternative the Post Office @ 1.8% with very limited access & the bonus guarantee is only 0.9%. The main appeal for us…

Can anyone shed light on Bellpenny?
We've had a two-page letter from our IFA which I interpret as saying 'you don't earn us enough money and we are passing you on to a company called Bellpenny - but you'll still have the same adviser'. In fact, from online searching, it appears that the IFA is now owned by an American company called Bellpenny and it appears…
