Halifax Guaranteed Saver transfer delay worries
I tried transferring money from my guaranteed saver into an ISA earlier today and was greeted by a message saying I had agree to some ISA declarations for this year. After that it said it would take up to 48 hours to transfer money, which is fair enough. However, I then noticed that no evidence of the transaction pending…

Santander - moving more than 10,000 ?
My mother is in the process of a house purchase and will soon need to move a few tens of thousands out of her Santander current account. She can though only move up to 10,000 per day, so is there a way to move more than that in one fell swoop, online or otherwise? Also, do Santander have a telephone number that takes you…

Post Office Investment Account from 1992....would it still be live?
I have just found my sons pass book which I thought was long lost. The last entry was late 1992 and there was £40 in the account. I have never had any interest added to the pass book, so can I expect there to be almost 19 years of interest? Would the account be classed as dormant?

Commodities & Bond Funds
Recently I have been reading alot of articles on asset allocation and the importance of diversifying across the various asset classes. Having ran my portfolio through Morningstar's X-ray tool it would appear that 18% of the portfolio is in industrial materials and 11% is in energy. Would it therefore be unnecessary to have…

Saving for university in the future. Where?
Hi I want to start saving for when my son goes to university (if he wants to). I've got 14 years to go but can't save a lot each month. Do any of the banks/building societies have "college funds"? What's the best bet for long-term, fairly low amount (maybe £20-30 a month) savings? Any advice welcome. Thanks
