190,000 euros to save

Options
Hi,

I am selling a property in spain and will receive a draft for 191,260 euros after deduction of tax on Friday.

I would like to save rather than invest this portion of my portfolio.

My thoughts are:
2 X 15,000 in NS&I index linked savings certificates.
2 X 5,100 in cash ISAs

I would appreciate your advice on where to deposit the remainder?:A

Having used your ISA allowance. Having maxed out on NS&I. Having decided not to invest, you have very few choices:

    1. Instant savings account (roughly 3%)

    2. Longer term fixed rate savings ranging from 3.5% up to around 5% depending upon the term for which you are happy to 'fix'.

There are really no other hidden treasures. The only alternative would be some sort of 'investment' - which totally changes the risk of losing capital.

Presumably you have to pay some UK CGT so you'll need a chunk in cash to cover the liability in January 2013?
