Call centre workers - not giving you their name.
Have you come across this? Call centre workers at banks who only give you their first name, - when you ask for their surname they say "we don't give out our surnames". Why is this? Is the answer simply that they do not want to be held accountable for any f'ck up that they might do? I find it quite rude to be honest.

Zurich Guaranteed Capital Account 23
This account has been recomended to me by an IFA. It would mean tying up all I have for 5 years but that bit is OK. I would just like some educated opinions on this account please as I've never invested in this sort of account before & I can't afford to take risks with all my cash. I've read the blurb and the pros and cons…

Nightmare with Barclays and Natwest ISA
All I have had a nightmare with Barclays and Natwest trying to transfer an ISA, and I feel that this is proof that neither company will go the extra mile to help me out, but would rather blame each other. I am coming on here to see what legal recourse I have and if I can take them to the small claims court for lost…

feedback appreciated.
does my equities breakdown seem reasonable or underweight/overweight in any particular region? Im investing for long term (10 years plus) - although, willing to take a profit on the way and reinvest. Its focused on growth, without being reckless and with eye on income for reinvestment. 50% UK, 8% USA, 5% Europe (ex UK), 2%…

Child Trust Fund - doorstep caller
We had our CTF voucher allocated to Foresters by the Inland Revenue as we didn't do anything with it for a year. My wife called me earlier today to say that a man from Foresters had turned up at our house unannounced to "get some more details" about us and to arrange an appointment to come and see us to talk about the CTF.…

Who to invest with?
Hi, I hope some of the investors here can help me out as I try to make a start in investing. I now…

Anglo Irish 1yr Bond - emergency?
Hi, Need access to my 1yr fixed rate bond. Opened it in December 2008. Clause 4 of the T&Cs says "withdrawals are only allowed in the case of an emergency". What might that be? I want to use the money as deposit on a house but doubt that would count!
