Savings advice
I have a Birmingham Midshire fixed rate bond about to expire soon, but don't know where to put the money. I've been offered a new one with them at a rate of 3.35% gross or 2.67% net, but do i accept? I've already applied for a 2009/10 isa, the value of the bond is £43,000 excluding interest. Thanks for any advice.

Sources of information about investment
I'm looking for sources of investment advice, apart from here of course. I'm 51. I have £80,000 in total. I like research, and doing sums! So I'm not the least afraid of direct equity investment. Investors Chronicle looks OK - is it? If so is it worth paying for the extra online access? Any other regular print publications…

Savings/Investment for money from the sale of my house
I’m just about to sell my house in the UK as I live in the Middle East tax free, I’ve asked my Independent Financial Advisor what to do with my money. Tax on savings interest “all or nothing"
My only income this tax year will probably be a deferred £5,225 redundancy payment, which was the personal allowance at the time of redundancy. My interest on savings is going to take me just above the current £6,475 personal allowance. HMRC inform me that this makes me a tax payer and I cannot register any of my bank…

3% -Fair interest rate for last 12 months?
I would really appreciate views on what would be considered a fair interest rate on money borrowed over last 12 months. I borrowed a substantial sum (over £30k) from my partner's family last April. I invested it in Kaupthing Edge which went bust in Oct and subsequently put in AA Savings easy access. I am paying them back…
