Julian Hodge Bank - experiences?
Need to find a home for my matured Northern Rock bond money .... Think I'm still going to steer clear of the best headline rate (ICICI) due to adverse customer relations and other comments on here.... I need monthly interest so that rules out the West Brom offering ..... Next best seems to be Julian Hodge .... I'm sure…

Hi, I invested in NS&I Index Linked Saving Certificates a few months ago, paying current RPI plus 1% The RPI today is 0.9, and going down steeply. Anyone know what happens to the interest paid if the RPI goes below zero, or even below -1% ? Thanks.

We want to set up savings accounts for our 2 sons, our 3rd son qualified for a child trust fund (so we will continue adding to this account for him). We want a similar account for the other 2, so that the money cannot be accessed until they turn 18 (this is how the trust fund works). I have had a browse online & as far as…

Best place for childrens inheritance.
Hi, I don't venture far from DFW so please be gentle with me. My children are shortly going to inherit in the region of 10k each. This has to be invested until they are 18 (longer if I get my way). Their ages are 13,11,10 and 8. If anybody has any suggestions (especially in the current climate) where the best place to put…

Check your Kaupthing accounts!
Last July I opened three three-year fixed term accounts with KE. In October I closed one, so two left. I was assured that the rates and conditions on the other two would be honoured. So imagine my surprise when I went to check them just now and both term accounts had been dumped into my basic savings account just over a…

Bank Shares & Nationalisation
What happens to shares when banks nationalise? My Mum has shares in a high street bank brought as part of an employee share scheme. They are now worth peanuts but she is wondering whether they will be worth nothing if the bank is nationalised. Thanks

Investors: The Bulls are back in Town!
Dow Jones up 3.51% tonight - expect a positive kick into UK shares tomorrow. :) Glad I didn't panic sell earlier, but here's the rub - even though we could see gains running for a few weeks or even months (the 200 day average suggests shares are oversold) we are still probably looking at a bear rally. In other words, a…
