Julian Hodge Bank - experiences?

Need to find a home for my matured Northern Rock bond money ....

Think I'm still going to steer clear of the best headline rate (ICICI) due to adverse customer relations and other comments on here....

I need monthly interest so that rules out the West Brom offering .....

Next best seems to be Julian Hodge .... I'm sure I've read good things about them on here but does anyone have 'up to date' info about their customer service etc....... my first impression is not THAT great because on calling I can only get through to an answerphone !!)

(Anyone know of anything else offering better than 4.25 AER with monthly interest ..... I've searched but may have missed one.)

.....come to that .... up to date info on ICICI???? these days three months ago seems a very long time ..!

Cheers

Can't see that on their website.
  • We applied for a fixed rate bond from Julian Hodge Bank for my wife this week. We know they got the application as we have delivery confirmation from Royal Mail. We also needed to email them as we realised we made a mistake on the form. They emailed back having recieved it, and confirmed they made the amendments. They said they would write when the bond was opened.

FirstSave 1 year bond 5th issue offers 4.5% AER. The gross rate for monthly interest is 4.41% (3.53% net) but you need to deposit at least £5000 to receive monthly interest.

Posted my application 18/01/09 received confirmation this morning (23rd) - excellent service so far.

http://www.julianhodgebank.com/personal/rates/savings_rates.asp#CMB Capital millennium bond. The 4.25% gross is for interest at maturity(12 months). 4.17% gross for monthly. AERs both 4.25% though.

I have two fixed isas and a Cap Mil Bond with JH Bank, fixed when rates were much better fortunately. Can't fault them in any way. C.S. has always been excellent for me.

My wife and I posted applications to JH for the 1-year fixed rate ISA (4.25%) on 16 Jan These were Icesave transfers using the re-instatement certificates.

Yesterday, 22 Jan, we received acceptance letters and today our cheques have been cleared. The whole process completed in 7 days.

Very efficient service - we are favourably impressed.
  • Geepster - think Firstsave one year bond is now also down to 4.25%

    You're absolutely right.
It was 4.50% when I posted but changed very quickly after that. Typical:o
I've actually gone for the Julian Hodge Capital Millenium bond. ;)
  • Me too Geepster !

Application form in the post this morning .....
