Cash ISA - fixed or variable interest?
Just asking for some advice really, I currently have 10K in an ISA paying 5.25% variable. This has dropped from the 6.25% when I opened it 6 months ago. In the best buy tables currently, the best variable rate ISA is 6.25% The best 1 year fixed rate ISA is paying 5.25% (but it's called a 'bond' so I guess it means no…

Nationwide fixed rate bond
Has anyone got any thoughts on the new fixed accounts from Nationwide. 6 months / 5.17% 1 year / 4.88% 2 years / 5.10% If I did the the 2 years at 5.10%, even though it's not that great now, in a years time it might be hard to get 4%. So would be a wise chose. Anyone?

Savings Gateway- state supported saving scheme.
Reading through the details of yesterday's PBR, I spotted this- "A new state supported saving scheme - known as the Savings Gateway - will be launched, in which the government will contribute 50 pence for every pound saved. My elderly father has allowed the balance of his Post Office Card Account to build up to quite a substantial sum as his state pension plus other benefits and allowances are paid into it but his outgoings are small. I do not need the money for the next year and want to leave it on deposit. I know I will need several accounts to spread the £300,000 in 50K lumps but don't know whether to put it in variable rate accounts which seem to be paying around 6% today or fixed rate accounts which seem to be paying around 4.5%. Any advise…

Are savings bonuses now unavoidable?
Hi, I'm looking at new accounts to move/consolidate some of my money into (currently scattered between Kaupthing, Principality, Halifax, Lloyds and B&B) but notice that clean accounts pay a really low interest rate, and the only thing available that pays even above 3.5% now are ones with a bonus. Should I just go with one…
