Birmingham Midshires mucked up bond deposit

Don't think I'll be using Birmingham Midshires again. They paid my bond cheque into my Esaver.
Received my forms within 2 days. posted back so they should have received on 11th. Forms said within 5 banking days cheque should be deposited. Obviously that wasn't going to happen with the backlog.
Cheque left current account on 20th. So languishing in current account without interest for longer than anticipated.
Logged onto Esaver and found cheque and been paid into there and not bond. Phoned them up , they admited mistake and said they will move it over to the bond when cleared ( 27th). They said they will add it to bond from 18th.

Sounds ok to me - 18th is 5 banking days from the 11th when you believe they should have received your cheque? I know they screwed up re esaver a/c but it happens... Or maybe I've misunderstood?0

You're lucky you even got the forms. I've requested the forms twice now and got nothing. I think they're incompetent and I'll be saving with someone else in future0

Yes, I realise now that I'm lucky that forms were not lost completely, or funds paid into someone else's account.
Mistakes do happen and at least I got through relatively easy on phone to sort it out. Bank clearing times in this day and age is rubbish though - left account on 20th and won't be cleared till 27th.0
