best fixed rate (1 year) deals still available
AA still offering 6.3% and Kent Reliance and Clydesdale/Yorkshire still have 6% bonds. Anyone know what other good deals are out there - fixed for up to a year? I have money in a NW variable account and just realised that 2% of the rate won't kick in until the end of the year - which is very disappointing, I need to find a…

Investment Statements-all bad news
I know it is the same for everyone but it is depressing to receive PEP/ISA etc statements showing current values. Advisers say that in the long run one will always do better in the stock market and none of us expected the markets to drop like they have. Just hope I am around long enough to see it go back up again?

Where is the Money Comming From
All of us Icesaver customers are getting their compensation (me including). I know that the FSCS are dealing with the compensation but where is the money actually coming from? Just to get a break from Icesave......What features would you like on online Accounts
This will probably get lost under the Icesave 2nd e-mail and where now for Icesave money, but what features do you think Online Accounts are missing. One I feel is transparency of Interest rates. We open an account knowing it's rate but over time they change (generally downwards). I'd like to see the current rate displayed…

tax on "total return"
Hi, I've been looking at putting some money into ETFs... and DB X-trackers look pretty attractive... however i have a question about taxation that maybe dunstonh or one of the other regulars might be able to help with... Competition - Another campaign urgently needed?
Now that so many banks & building societies are merging, I think we need an urgent campaign to force financial organisations to have separate registrations to ensure some healthy competition within the financial sector. ISA versus NS&I indexed linked -which one?
Hi, My young adult sons have £9000 to save. As they struggle to find their ISA allowance each year, should they put in £3600 now & hold back the rest 'til April for next year, or would they be better to put into NS & I indexed linked tax free bond for 3 years? They are basic rate taxpayers.
