This was announced after the close of the markets today I think

Shares can often rise when companies cut costs.
It depends on why they are cutting costs though.
Is it because they can sell the same amount of product but spend less money making it?
Or are they cutting output in anticiaption of / response to falling sales income?
This is a big international business and one factory closure will have little overall impact. It's the strategy behind it that ultimately determines the share price.0 -
I think you will find that a factory employing 650 people is a tiny drop in the ocean for a truly global company like GSK with facilities all over the world. Don't base you investment decision on just that bit of "news".0
