best fixed rate (1 year) deals still available

AA still offering 6.3% and Kent Reliance and Clydesdale/Yorkshire still have 6% bonds.
Anyone know what other good deals are out there - fixed for up to a year?
I have money in a NW variable account and just realised that 2% of the rate won't kick in until the end of the year - which is very disappointing, I need to find a good home for the money asap.
Thanks!
PS Nothing too exotic!

not heard of AK bank before, so maybe a little too exotic?
Still offering 7% 1 yr fixed deposit account according to their website:

Should I resist and stick to more UK based banks?0 -

Ive just downloaded an application form for 6% fixed for a year with Kent reliance. Anyone any experience of them? Should be accepted ok if posted tomorrow with cheque I would have thought.
Alternatively, I could just take my cheque to Yorkshire Bank local branch for a similar rate . Any views on the least likely to cause trouble?
Lastly, anyone know when the Coventry poppy bond was pulled. I got linked to it from another site, and it was showing as there , so as Id already opened a bond with them a few days ago, I sent another cheque in the post this afternoon to add to it, then, OMG I noticed that when I got onto the Coventry site direct to check something, it was closed. Wonder if theyll accept it -bit worried that they will sit on it for a week and then send it back!0 -
Had my ISA with KR for 2 years. They are very good. ONly wish Id never transferred it to Icesave for an extra 0.5%. They transferred it in 5 days too so they are very efficient. Wish I was still with them.ANGLICANPAT wrote: »Ive just downloaded an application form for 6% fixed for a year with Kent reliance. Anyone any experience of them? I have money invested with them in an Over 65s - intergenerational A/c - strange I know. Anyway, they seem to be oldfashioned and send letters everytime I make a deposit. Now they have given me info about taking part in a trial to see my A/c on line - guess what, it doesn't work. I know it is only a trial they are doing but they have not got it right.0 -
