Icesave - Log receipt of forms for Fixed Term Accounts
Could we have a separate thread for people who have opted to retain their Icesave Fixed Term Account to log when they receive compensation application forms from the FSCS? I've read the e-mail covering this and am still confused as to whether they're going to send out forms straight away for us to complete and return, to…

This is just a poll, to see what people plan to do with their fixed rate accounts at Icesave, now they know what the options are: 1. "Be paid the principal sum plus interest on that sum up to and including 7 October 2008". (i.e. taking the money now) or 2. "Wait until the end of the fixed term, and receive interest which…

We've recently received the Icesave email and it says something to the effect that we can opt to take the money out immediately or instead to leave the money until it matures and we'll receive the interest as per the orginal terms of the…

Lessons learned from the Icesave experience?
Apart from the fact that with hindsight and a crystal ball it might have been better not to save with Icesave in the first place, now that the refund process is well under way, it seems that saving via an internet account has one very real advantage. This is that the compensation process is extremely simple whenever…

Investec High 5 account
This account is attractive as the rate changes weekly and is always the avarage of the top 5 accounts listed by Moneyfacts. It's regulated so safe up to £50K. Although 3 month's notice is required, you can give this immediately and then cancel it 2 months later and give a new 3 months notice, so you'd always have access…

ICESAVE - Money Received! Hurray!!!!
I can't believe it! I got my 2nd email on 11/11 and the money credited my linked account this morning. It even appears to be cleared funds! Words can't express how happy I am at this point in time! I still need to wait for my ISA certificate to come through, but I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be this fast. A…

A Special Account for Ex-Icesavers ?
There is an awful lot of money looking for a new home now and the amount will be increasing as the days and weeks go by. We have all been scrabbling around trying to find good rates and opening multiple accounts hoping something reasonable will still be open by the time our money comes through. I personally am feeling…

Icesave - Anyone NOT received 2nd email yet?
We have more than one user on our email address. (Apparently this is not unusual as FSCS now mention this under Q14 of the FAQ) We have received only one 2nd email but have successfully claimed and received the funds for one user. We have sent the blank email to icesave@fscs.org.uk for…

Icesave online claims "Amount" box purpose?
After receiving the 2nd email, when I logged-in, selected one of my accounts and clicked on its "Initiate" link, the next screen asks me to enter the "Amount (£)" to claim from that account. This was an unexpected question that I had not seen mentioned anywhere. On the face of it, it seems a rather stupid question. Why…
