ICESAVE - Money Received! Hurray!!!!

I can't believe it! I got my 2nd email on 11/11 and the money credited my linked account this morning. It even appears to be cleared funds!
Words can't express how happy I am at this point in time!
I still need to wait for my ISA certificate to come through, but I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be this fast.
A big thank you to everyone at FSCS who has made this possible.
Good luck to everyone else - I hope it goes smoothly for you all.

nice one. i'm still waiting for my 2nd too.
so when my money does eventually arrive into my linked account, have i got to keep it there until i get the certificate before i can open another isa?
i'm really struggling with this +1 isa in a year thing.0 -
Don't see why you should have to, no. You could put it in a higher rate account for a couple of weeks.
It'll be the certificate that does the work. Your new ISA provider won't know or care where the money has journied during the preceding 2 weeks.0 -
Well, I did a search a while ago and it seemed then to be NatWest that were the best home to swap your existing ISA into. I wonder if that is still the case?
Anyone know the answer?0 -

It depends. CHeck the following article as posted by Martin. Natwest and RBS are both the top payers - it depends on how much you actually have. The advertised rate is ONLY for transfer ISA's tho :

There is nothing stopping you putting your ISA money into the highest paying savings account you currently hold (or can find) if that means it will earn more interest than any current ISA is offering. Deadline for depositing it into a new ISA is 5th April '09“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Natwest/RBS will be the new home for my ISA once I get the ISA certificate from Icesave0

Money received by myself & my wife as well, in process of opening an ISA with FDirect, they told me all I have to do is write out a cheque and send it along with the ISA certificates and they will credit my newly opened ISA.0

In August I opened up a Instant Access Saving Account Reward with Bank Of Scotland, it paid 6.5% fixed for a year and allows you to pay in as much as you want and whenever, so long as you don't withdraw more than 4 times in the year.......can't believe how lucky I was to get that, as at the time there were accounts with higher rates, but I liked the flexibility on accessinmg your money and depositing more.........seems I did the right thing!.....the icesave money is in there for the moment until we get the certificates0
