One-year or two-year fixed rate bond?
Our fixed rate bond with Nationwide matures at the end of August, so we're starting to look at where to put it. I notice that several Building Societies (we prefer to save with them rather than banks) are offering lower rates for a two year bond than they do for a one year bond. For example Nationwide offer 6.7% for one…

kaupthing edge - username?
I've recently opened a savings account with kaupthing edge. They've sent me a temporary password, with instructions for logging in, but I don't seem to have a username. I can't remember making one up when I applied. Are they supposed to send out a username in a separate letter?

Can someone please help me. My grandma passed away last year and she left me £1,000 in her will. I don't want to put it straight into my bank as my overdraft would swallow it up. The money means a lot to me and i don't want to risk loosing any of it, so was wondering if an ISA was the best way to go and which one should i…

Saving for kids university (hopefully!)
Where would be best to invest some cash for this? One of my kids is 8 and the other is 1. I think I'd prefer a 'safety first' option and avoid stock market exposure, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a lump sum to invest and would like the option to contribute monthly if possible.

List of safest banks?
Kind of a strange question, but does anyone have a list of the safest banks in terms of financial position, or their opinion on the safety banks to hold your money?
