Low Interest HSBC ISA

Hi, I'm looking for a bit of advice. I currently have a tax haven ISA with Barclays which has reached is maximum investment limit for 08/09. I also have an older ISA with HSBC where I have £6800 saved in the account but when I recently checked with HSBC they were only paying an interest rate of approx. 4.49% (maybe even slightly lower).
I just wanted to know if there is a better way of making the money in the HSBC ISA work harder for me in terms of gaining more interest?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

If I have already invested the maximum funds into my ISA for 2008/9 can I move money from an old ISA into a new ISA and would there be a limit on the amount I can transfer?
Thanks0
