EGG PLC shares delisted- what happens next?
A mate had a few hundred shares in Egg Plc which has apparently been delisted by Prudential. Where does that leave him. They were held in a nominee account with Halifax Share dealing services I think.

Savings for charities
I have recently taken over as the Treasurer of a charitiable organisation. We have a sum of money approximately £2000, which we wish to invest, but gain the highest interest rate possible. We can't open an ISA, and don't want to dabble in stocks/shares. The current rates that we have been advised so far are not very good.…

5 yr protected FTSE plan
Hi all I have about £17k at the moment which I would like to invest somewhere. I currently have £3k in a mini cash ISA so I've used up my allowance for this year. I've always been very risk averse with my savings but I've decided that I'd like to try something a little bit more imaginative than a simple savings account.…

Living Abroad: BestInvest/Allenbridge/Saunderson House?
Hello, first time poster here. I am moving to Asia permanently, just sold my flat and plan to retain (a very large six figure) part of the sale proceeds here in the UK (or off shore) for investment. I am planning to put 10% of the money in a instant access (or short notice)account which pays interest GROSS (off shore?),…

Building society consolidation ahead?
Anyone with an account / mortgage at a small or medium sized building society needs to pay attention to This news - IA link which suggests that small consolidation windfalls could be heading your way soon :) . Credit Union 3.5% Interest - Query
Hi! My fiancee has money in a credit union account - she gets a rate of 3.5% tax free. She has about 10k in the account. I'm recommending that she puts 3k into a cash ISA account, with a rate of about 5% Gross/AER. That leaves 7k! Is it beneficial for her to move the remainder into an online saver account, given that she…

Best place for my return £££
Hi I am a Non-resident of the UK for tax purposes. i.e. I am not in the country more than 90 days a year and have not been for the last 6 years. Investing for grand-children
My wife and I invest £20 per month for each of our two grand-daughters. One is in a National savings account and the other in an Invesco Perpetual Children's Fund. Does anyone have a view on the best investments in this situation? I suspect the ones we have are probably pretty rubbish. We're looking here at keeing the…

I have 50k to invest. It could be needed at any time as it will be used as a deposit for a house. Therefore I need instant access. I have seen that the ICICI account pays the best rate of interest but am worried about putting my money with a company I have not heard of. Should I be? Any reassurance on ICICI or alternative…

Reasonable Portfolio?
Hi guys I know official advice isn't permitted, etc, but I was just wondering if people thought what I am considering is reasonable or if I'm way off. Capital One -any known problems?
Capital One (UK) rarely seem to get a mention on here or even more a recommendation as an Internet Savings provider. They offer 4.65 AER with monthly interest and a guarantee to match base rate until 1.1.08. And they offer phone contact - which Cahoot for example studiously avoid. Yet people seem to avoid them. Maybe no…
