Stack 'Em High Sell 'Em Low
Shops these days have as much floor space filled as they possibly can to the extent that it's dangerous. Now we have 1 year old twins that are in a double buggy. It goes through a standard 33 inch door but cant get round a lot of stores. Ok, I confess, it was my wife and i's choice to have more of a family, and it was us…

ALWAYS Check EVERY bill ! - It pays !
It's always worth checking EVERY bill whether it arrives via email, through the post or from the shop or supermarket checkout - if time is short even a quick 5 second glance is better than not checking at all. As a regular shopper both with the wife and solo, I try to memorise special offer and discounted or reduced prices…

If your shopping at Ikea at the moment and pick up something advertised as special as you wonder through, make a clear note of it and what special price should be (use their pencil and paper provided), and double check whether you get charged the special price at checkout. I reckon Aviva conned me!
I took out a small AVC ‘top up’ policy with CU Life several years back, since which they merged with Norwich Union, and is now part of Aviva. In 2008 I think it started, Aviva announced they had some spare funds to distribute to policy holders, called a ‘re-attribution’ payment- subject to legalities, policy holder…

Three years ago we bought a HP laptop and HP desktop from Comet. Not had any problems with the desktop but BIG problems with the laptop. Mom?
Not so much of a rant, just a grumpy old man having a moan ;) More and more, I'm seeing the use of the word "mom" in messages. I know that it's possible some of the members are American but it sems that most are not. When did this word start creeping in to (the real) English language and what's wrong with mum or mam? :(

Raising Money for Hospital Equipment / Child Illness
I just cannot get my head around why it is that hospitals rely on donations of equipment, i.e. incubators for the baby units, electric beds to prevent bed sores etc. Surely if such equipment is required it should come out of the hospitals budgets, yes ultimately we would still be paying via our taxes but l for one object…
