Please help me get refund from AA
Hi, This is partly my fault, but I think really unreasonable of AA. Last year, I was not covered by AA for my car for about 2 months because my year of membership ran out, and only when my car had problems did I get a new membership in October. (Waiting the obligatory 24 hours before calling them of course) Anyway, my car…

L&G vandalised my marriage certificate
I recently tried to claim from L&G about being mis-sold an endowment policy. They agreed that we had been mis-sold it but were not going to give us any compensation. That is one aspect of why I’m rather pi**ed off with them but that is a battle for another day. The reason why I’m having my rant here is that they requested…

Next can't be faulted. New door and 40 quid voucher
An armchair we ordered from Next was far too big for our room. Next said they'd gladly collect it and refund us. When they came to collect it they slightly damaged the corner of our front door. They paid for a new front door AND gave us £40 vouchers. Now that's what I call customer service.

Broken Speed Light
Hi I bought a Nikon Flash gun on 26 Sep 2007 from an online camera company based in London. I used it all of three times then it stopped working on 14 Nov 20007. I emailed the company explaining that I had unfortunatly misslaid the receipt but have proof of purchase via my master card statement. They told me send it back…

Worth a letter?
My Mum bought a new world gas cooker from comet with a 12 month guarantee, just after xmas this year she noticed that the bottom oven (its a double oven thing) wasn't working properly. Now, at the time my Dad had just been diagnosed with a terminal illness and was in hospital after getting an especially nasty infection…

Peacefully picketing business premises when you've been ripped off
Have any of you done it? Did it work? Are there any legal issues I should be aware of? Thanks in advance. Just to put it in context - goods were faulty and trader promised to replace them but didn't. Plus he kept the faulty one and the stamped addressed jiffy bag sent for him to replace the item at no cost to himself.…

Oli Catalogue
2 days ago I ordered a white coat from Oli. My parcel arrived today, but when I opened it they have sent a brown handbag(?). How ridiculous is that? Funny thing is the delivery note has the correct catalogue number and description on it! I wouldn't mind so much if it was just the wrong colour (I actually couldn't decide on…

Can Currys do This?
In February my boyfriend bought a laptop from Currys for £1400. By June it had started to cut out and in September he called them as it had stopped working. The first time he called he decribed the problem to the advisor over the phone and was told that it was down to 'normal wear and tear' and he'd need to repair it…

Car waranty just expired by 5 days and now has a fault
My wife's car had a 3-yr warranty which just expired last week. Suprise, suprise a fault was detected this morning. The part that failed shouldn't fail this early in its life but it has. The bill will be £400. Is there anything I could do to have the car dealership waive or discount this bill as a "good will gesture" or…

Royal Mail £8 Internal Post Handling Fee scam?
This is very loosely paraphrased from my phonecall this morning to royal mail complains after I got done for a £8 "royal mail international handling fee". That, on top of, paying £4.97 duty/VAT on an order for £33. So a total of £13 with the added bonus of the parcel delivery being delayed and me having to pick it up…

What Do I Do Now?
Hi, I placed an order with Salon's Direct in Birkenhead (Wirral) on 1st October for goods for my Nail Salon. I didn't recieve the order before I went away on holiday on 11th October but presumed this was down to the postal strikes and that they would attempt to deliver whilst I was away. Apparantly it should have been…

British Gas Bolier Repair, paid for but referred to collection agency
Hi there folks, On 27th October 2006 I had British Gas carry out an ad hoc repair on the boiler at a property I let out. I paid the invoice on 31st October 2006, in full with my debit card at a post office counter (I still have the all the paperwork including receipt and PO Stamped counterfoil). Today I called round to see…
