Broken Speed Light

Hi

I bought a Nikon Flash gun on 26 Sep 2007 from an online camera company based in London.

I used it all of three times then it stopped working on 14 Nov 20007. I emailed the company explaining that I had unfortunatly misslaid the receipt but have proof of purchase via my master card statement.

They told me send it back so they could check it. I was then told sorry we cannot help you as there is no garantee and you have no receipt.

Tried emailing since but they never reply. Anyone have any ideas as to what the best next move would be.

Thanks for any help.

Tell them that you have proof of purchase, which is all you need. Put it in writing what you expect of them and specify a reasonable time for them to respond. But personally my first thing I'd do is contact Nikon as I'm sure there will be a manufacturer's warranty on it. If you don't get anywhere with the manufacturer then do the above citing the Sale of Goods Act and Distance Seller Regulations if necessary. Won't you have an email confirmation for the order?

(Thread title made me think you were complaining that someone had broken the speed of light, "how dare they overthrow the laws of physics" :))

Check your email for an order confirmation & order sent email, check your deleted emails too if you have that facility. But the CC statement would be proof enough for the small claims court.

You are allowed to name the company.

Also di you ever send it to them? and they haven't sent it back?
  • Yes I sent it back to them not seen it since. The company name is CameraKing https://www.cameraking.co.uk.

Just tell them to replace or refund within 7 days or you will start small claims court proceedings (you only need proof of purchase not a receipt) - can be done through moneyclaimonline - also, did you pay £165 for the 600??, that is a bit overpriced - try https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk to get the best online deals, I have saved quite a bit by using them.
