BT or Talktalk?
I've been with BT for 8 years now and have had no problems with them whatsoever but I pay about £49 per month via DD and would like to cut this down. I read about Talktalks free broadband but how good are they? The thing that puts me off from migrating to them is doing the change from BT after all these years then swapping…

When I receive an incoming call a cabled telephone does not ring at all, an answering maching…

Woman Charged By Virgin Media For Next Door Neighbours Cordless Calls
"A woman is having to pay for phone calls made by a neighbour whose cordless handset linked itself to her landline. Michaela Doyle became suspicious when her bill rocketed from an average £50 a month to £160. A Virgin Media engineer told her that a neighbour's analogue phone must be on the same channel and frequency as the…

A landline phone that alerts when free call period expires?
A lot of telecom companies do a free 1st hour, but start charging if you continue the call beyond that. I know a lot of phones will time the duration of a call but is there any phone on the market that will actually alert you (audible beep?) so you can hang up and redial before incurring charges? It is for my elderly…

Ofcom's proposals to curb unfair additional charges on bills: Have your say
Ofcom has recently announced proposals to curb unfair charges on consumer bills. It has said charges for late payments, paying by direct debit or ending contracts early must be fair and a reflection of the cost rather than a way to sap more money from customers. It's guidelines are as follows: 1) providers need to be clear…
