Hi,
I'm going threw a frenzy of changing all my utility bills to (as per comparrison sites), cheaper alternatives.
Changed my gas & elec, in the process of changing my mobile and now my phone line is up!
At the moment Im with BT Together Option 1 with One Tel (now Talk Talk I think), I just pay BT for the Landline.
Anyway after going via this site to a comparrison site First Telecom came out as the cheapest if I take up the full monty therefore with the line Rental.
Now my broadband is with Wanadoo (Orange now), which I want to keep for now due to me having free broadband for 6 months.
My concern is:
If First Telecom take over my line rental could I have future problems with maybe Sky or Wanadoo/Orange or other broadband companies who say that you need a BT landline for the service you require?
I have read this on some occasions like... " join up for ...." then in the small print BT landline is required?!!!
Now if I'm with First Telekom I still have the physical landline but not from BT so it should not matter no?it's just a company with a different name?
I'm confused?
Also anyone know where there is more than £15 cashback available then from the link off this site for a landline switch? I'm so hooked on quidco but only £10.50 from that site!
Many thanks and happy saving everyone

Comparison sites make their money by people signing up via them following their recommendation (think about it).
What is it in the First Telecom recommendation which has grabbed your attention?
Handing over your line rental is not generally a good idea because:
1. Only BT has to allow access to indirect access providers like 1899, 18185 and 18866;
2. You can only CPS your calls with a BT landline.
In any case, First Telecom's line rental is £10.85/month. BT's is £10.50 if you pay by DD and opt for paper-free billing.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Thanks,
I will have to look into this more instead of just taking what the comparrison sites sayas gospel.
I just thought they were supposed to be impartial!
I think I will look at keeping the BT landline as you say it's £10.50 with paperless billing so I shall look for a cheaper alternative in regards to making calls.
Many thanks again0 -
