Travelling with dogs
This is a bit of two birds with one stone thread. First of all I will ask if anyone can recommend me a car with a HUGE boot that would be big enough for two GSDs. Secondly I want to ask what method you all use for when you have dogs in the car ? :D

My new boy!
Thought I would take this opportunity to show off my gorgeous boy Nedry - he is 8 weeks old and I got him yesterday :) Here he is.... He is currently settling in, wondered if any other cockatiel owners had any useful tips and advice? Want to give him the best :) xx

Pet Insurance pre-existing condition
If your pet has not been treated for a particular condition for a couple of years, does that mean it will no longer be classed as a pre-existing condition and therefore not count against you if you want to change insurer? Does anyone know far back insurance companies request medical history for from your vet?

Jobs for dogs
This is a bit gross so be warned! Decided I really should clean the grill pan today as I used it yesterday to roast a chicken and some potatoes and had put off doing it yesterday as I couldn't face the grease and burnt bits. As I took it out the oven to wash I dropped it on the floor. Tyson decided to investigate and…

Blue Cross has called for Government action to "discourage irresponsible breeders" after warning that the numbers of unwanted kittens, puppies and pregnant pets in its countrywide network of rehoming centres has reached "epidemic levels".

Pet Insurance - Crossbreed or breed
I'm looking for insurance and getting confused over which 'breed' I should select. I have a Newfoundland Cross. Do I select crossbreed or Newfoundland? It makes a huge difference in price. Thanks :)

Warning...Seresto Flea collars
Someone has posted over on PF after experiencing problems with these collars. Both her cats were very ill soon after having the collar put on, the older cat recovered fairly quickly but the younger boy is still experiencing severe hind leg weakness.

Pet hamster doing my head in!
Any idea why my hamster is incessantly chewing on his bottle? He chewed all the plastic off his original and pulled the spout out. Scaring my half to death because I couldn't find the ball bearing (I did evenutally, little scamp had buried it). He is doing it with his new bottle and I was wondering if there is anything I…

Cats and raw food
Hello All, Please be gentle - I am sure that this is a stupid question ..... After reading this forum, I am thinking of introducing raw food into my cats diet. I just wanted to clarify : by raw food, I take it you mean just take the uncooked chicken out of the fridge and let them eat it ? What about the skin and bones etc.…

Recommend me your pet hair remover!
The cat is moulting and it's a nightmare!! My duvet cover is a mess! We brush her with a Zoom Groom but obviously she still sheds where she sleeps, and our bed is the one place she refuses to sleep on a blanket! At the money we use the lint rollers that have removeable paper but costs a fortune and they don't last long…

Cats fighting - help!!
Help please. Our 2 cats, who have always got along well, got into a huge fight tonight. Not sure why. Now the youngest cat (non dominant) wont stop growling which is setting the dominant cat off and they are attacking each other. Freaking out as never seen them like this. To compound matters my toddler is really unwell and…

Cat not using litter tray
I often see threads on here that neighbours are annoyed cats use their garden as a toilet. My question is - how do I persuade my cat the litter tray is better than outdoors? I have one cat, she knows what the tray is for and where it is. BUT she will only use it if she absolutely has to. She really "holds it in" as long as…

Cat teeth cleaned £418?
Hi, posting on behalf of a friend, who took her 13 year old cat to the vets for a jab. Whilst she was there, the vet said her cat had a lot of plaque on it's teeth and needed them cleaning. She has been given a quote for £418:eek::eek: Now, I'm not a cat person, but this seems outrageous and I know money is an issue for…

What do you make of the tail docking ban?
Do you think it should be applied to livestock too? Do you think it should be for show or working dogs (or both!)? Do you think it's effective. Interested to hear what people think, if you can back up your comments with statistics/evidence then it'll provide even more an insight for all of us :)

Poorly Cat
Our 13 yo female cat went to the vets recently for a blood test and the sugar result was on the high side (poss diabetes ?). Anyhow, this weekend she's been very lethargic and not eating much at all. Does this seem connected or coincidence ? Should we see the vet again anyway, asap ? Thanks :) Cat as per av pic btw !

Cat feeding station
Just got back from the vets after the cats annual checkup. Although one of them has lost a bit of weight the vet thinks he could do with a bit more coming off. She mentioned cat feeders where the cat has to 'work' for it's food rather than shovelling it all down in one go. The best I've found on the 'net is the Aikiou Cat…

The Burying Obsession??
Sooooo .... Lulu (indoor only, ~2 year old ex stray) likes to bury her 'business' and uneaten food which I believe is a normal instinct. She is not left alone much, is played with and cuddled daily and we (ok she) regularly watches animal TV, but I definitely think she would enjoy a cat playmate and am seriously…
