Cat feeding station

Just got back from the vets after the cats annual checkup. Although one of them has lost a bit of weight the vet thinks he could do with a bit more coming off.

She mentioned cat feeders where the cat has to 'work' for it's food rather than shovelling it all down in one go.

The best I've found on the 'net is the Aikiou Cat Stimulo which actually looks like it could be quite entertaining for me & the cats. There's a few videos on YouTube

Just wondering if anyone else has one of these or any similar type of feeder that might help slow the cats eating a bit.

Also just spotted the Catit Senses Food Maze

My cats know how to use the Nina Ottosson toy I bought for the dogs (but I take the bone shaped parts out for them first). Keeps them quiet for a while and would certainly slow down eating.

I have Daisy's bowls raised up off the ground about 4inches on a tray, apparently that's a better position for them to eat from.

I've just had the Catit Senses Food Maze delivered, I won that plus a whole load of other stuff in a cat photography competition that I won :D

I haven't put it together yet, but am hoping to soon, so I'll let you know how my 5 get on with it! :j

Raw meaty bones take a lot longer to eat than commercial pet food. There is this for dry food which Noah used to quite like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sgout4Pats

If you search YouTube for 'katzenfummelbrett' you will find DIY intelligence toys made from free stuff like toilet roll tubes and egg boxes. :money:

i also use nina ottoson dog toys as well :) The tornado is the easiest for them to maneuver. I tried the slimcat ball, but she just stared at it and then cried at me.

the boy (all tabby) always figures out how to use them first.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I didn't think there was that much variety out there.

After reading some of the reviews and watching a few videos I'm leaning towards either the Food Maze or Feeder Ball (or both)

I might try a couple of simple DIY experiments to see how they respond but some of those would be too much like hard work.
