The Burying Obsession??

Sooooo .... Lulu (indoor only, ~2 year old ex stray) likes to bury her 'business' and uneaten food which I believe is a normal instinct. She is not left alone much, is played with and cuddled daily and we (ok she) regularly watches animal TV, but I definitely think she would enjoy a cat playmate and am seriously considering that for the new year.
Two problems in combination
1. She is absolutely rubbish at it! :rotfl: Mostly she scrapes at air, wall, sofa ....
2. I think it has escalated, she seems to spend more time buying. And obviously she could bury all day and never cover anything given she doesn't use cat litter or other useful substrates!!!!
Should I ignore it? Am I not entertaining her enough? Another explanation? Feel free to ask questions and criticise my kitty parenting skills!!!

One of my cats will not poo in the litter tray, she will wee, but will poo next to the bath, (trays are right next to it). She will then scratch at the bath panel for ages trying to cover it. Drives me mad!!0

Yes, one of ours used to do this with uneaten food. I put it down to possibly going hungry as a kitten as she is/was a rescue. However, over the years she did grow out of it.Our other cat at the time, who we'd had from a kitten never did this with her food.0
