Colour run laundry problem
I've just got a load out of the WM and found that one of 2 pairs of new very light blue jeans has run onto a light grey top & a light blue top...is there any hope of rescue? I'm now at work until 4.30pm & the tops are drying inside 11 miles away if anyone suggests putting them straight back in while wet...

Joint bank account
Hi, I have a joint account with my ex-patner that we used to pay bills, however since splitting up I have changed utilities to solely my name. I am going to get him to signs the docs to remove his name from the joint account, but does anyone know if the account holders changing I.e. going from Mr&Mrs to just Mrs, but acc…

3 square meals vs 5-6 small ones
Just curious which you prefer? I know traditionally the 3 square meals a day model was how families ate and there was virually no snacking. However some people now believe smaller meals are healthier and prevent over eating and blood sugar issues . I tend to think we are probably all different but I think I would probably…

Weekly Flylady Thread 9th July 2018
:footie::dance:What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and…

A Pot of Tea - and a Stamp!
I had my sister and her family visiting last weekend. In my efforts to reduce plastic usage Chez Lillibet, I have swapped tea bags for 'real tea'. I was amused when my 25-year old niece (whose turn it was to make the cuppas) admitted that she didn't know how to make tea in a pot!!:rotfl: I was then reminded of an incident…

Dishwasher or handwash?
In our present home, we are not on a water meter but decided to get rid of our dishwasher when doing a kitchen refit. There are only two of us at home now so we decided to use the space for an extra cupboard and to hand-wash the dishes. We are hoping to move into an apartment soon which has a water meter and includes a…

Are you SABLE?
:) Whilst whiling away a sleepless night, it occured to me that this might be an amusing idea for a thread. Hopefully, some others will agree and we can have some fun and share some ideas. :) S.A.B.L.E - meaning Stash Acquired Beyond Lifetime Expectancy. I think this term was coined over craft materials, but it could apply…

Is it cheaper to make your own curry paste
As above I usually buy things like thai green/ red paste and tikka then do the rest of it from scratch but wondering if it would be more affordable to make my own or do you need a lot of fresh ingredients. Tips and recipes welcome :)
