This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet…

Apricot and pecan scones
Hi all, I ate these at a tea room a few weeks ago and they were lovely but can only find American style recipes on line. Has anyone made them and if so would they mind sharing the recipe please! Thank you in advance!

Wasabi sauces?
I love wasabi but paste costs a lot. As mad as it sounds I love it on a portion of boiled rice so was wanting to make it into a sauce. Best way to do this?

Ecoballs - recent reviews please?
I bought some new boxed ecoballs at a charity shop today for £2 but I am having difficulty finding recent reviews. Should I use two at once? Do they work better with coloureds than whites? Maybe some OSers use them regularly? I would be grateful of your feedback so I can get the best use out of them.

Using frozen turkey
I've just found some pieces of frozen turkey on our freezer (forgot about them) which came off our Christmas one and I'd like to use them this evening (in a curry). My question is - do I need to defrost them before using or can I cook them straight from frozen (and how do I make sure that they're safe to eat)? Thanks!

Tiles in kitchen?
Having finished installing our kitchen, we have one last job which we have been putting off for months as we can't decide. We were intending to get glass splash backs behind the cooker and around under the cupboards, sink etc. Frankly, after paying for everything else, we don't have spare money to pay out more than a grand…
