Cleaning Laminate
Good Evening All, we have laminate throughout our flat. Got ourselves a Dettol cleaning mop, the one where you spray the Dettol cleaner and then mop.Well all it does is leave smears and move the dirt around, even after we have hoovered. What do you use to clean your floors? My husband is banging on about us getting a steam…

Has anyone a tasty recipe for dried peas? I have just put a whole packet ,that has been languishing in my cupboard, to soak overnight.I intend to use the protein to eke out a tiny piece of gammon.I also have a rather dried up rasher of bacon.I have plenty of veg in the fridge, do not want to shop this week, apart from milk.

Hello all, This is my first post although have been reading through for a while. I'd really like some advice on food shopping. Our problem being we are a family of 7, on one low wage and have restrictive diets. So no gluten, dairy or soya. I try to make most things from scratch, but life is busy with 5 children! Also I do…

I live alone...so the jam is likely to last a LONG time (thankfully they jam should stay good as long as the jars stay shut/sealed) Also, I am trying to lose…

Adjustable dressmaker dummy
I am not new to sewing but dressmaking is a skill I am yet to master. I'm sick of shopping for clothes and finding nothing fits properly so I want to try making my own garments but am not a standard size or shape, so am thinking buying an adjustable dressmaking form would be a good idea. I want to be able to make tops,…

Just never get a handle…

Let's start with the basic's....Cleaning & Cooking.
Well guys, I don't tend to post in this part of the forum very often but quite frankly...I need motivation, support and guidance if you are willing to give it. To explain, my Dad is a workaholic and what I can remember of my childhood of him was mostly him at an office desk. My Mum basically raised us but whilst she's fun,…

New Year Resolution, learning to sew
To explain this resolution for 2015, I've just moved into a new house and have super high ceilings. The company who done my roller blinds made me a set of curtains which are gorgeous but at £300 I can't afford to do that for every room, so I'd love to learn to sew to make my own. Especially as I like to change curtains and…

Hard water ruining laundry?
When I wash my clothes, the dark/coloured ones are left with light red marks on them, which I suspect are due to hard water? I've tried tablets, but they don't make any difference

Leftover Mango Chutney
Hi & Happy Boxing Day! I opened a jar of mango chutney a couple of days ago and threw away the jar but I have rather a lot left over. Other than have it with a curry and possibly on a cheese board, what else could I do with it? Thanks
