Sisal carpets (I think)
We've recently moved into a new house which is carpeted throughout in cream carpets, which feel quite rough in texture, and which I think might be sisal. Sadly, DS was violently ill over the weekend and managed to vomit from the top of one flight of stairs to the bottom, and also in several places in his bedroom. I cleaned…

Can you steam chicken? Pressure cooker?
Hi, long time no type. I have frozen loads of chicken legs/thighs that were on offer in separate bags. I tend to over cook in oven and they get dry. Can I steam them? Can I microwave them? They are for 11 month old DS's lunches so need to be well cooked. Many thanks for any suggestions. Actually, while I'm on here and I'm…

Healthy-ish meals made with a kettle?
I'm at my wits end trying to come up with a solution for this and I know if I'm going to get an answer anywhere it's going to be here. I'm a cabin crew member and have been off work for many months so am really broke. I am currently budgeting myself £40 a week which would be perfect if I'm at home, but I'm not. I'll be in…

Dry Cleaning Curtains
Probably not the right place to post this - but I know some of you wonderful Ol' Stylee types will probably know answer in a flash! I've been donated a lovely pair of curtains, for no good reason, by my neighbour. Whilst I really like them - the smell of cigarette smoke bothers me, being a non-smoker. If I'd got them from…

What can I do with this?
In the January sales I bought this hot chocolate which we forgot about and shoved at the back of the cupboard. The BBE was End of September so it's usable but needs using NOW. There's about 300g worth so we can't drink that much in hot chocolate. Any idea what we can use it for? Is there a kind of cake we could make out of…

Can I stilll use a 24p stamp?
I want to send a Christmas card to France which will cost 48p according to the Royal Mail website. You can't buy 24p stamps any more (as far as I can tell!) but I have a couple in my purse I could use if they're still legal tender, so to speak. Don't suppose anyone would know? I want to be sure this card will arrive.

Bread Maker v Kenwood Chef?
I've had a breadmaker for ages but hardly use it - don't like the texture - it always seems a bit rubbery. Anyway for various other reasons I had been considering getting a Kenwood Chef. Might I get a better bread result if I made up the dough in this and then baked it 'properly' in the oven? TIA
