Morning everyone
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wed 5th Dec 07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
I can't believe it, my teeth are still on edge after yesterday's scrape-athon at the dentist's. What a sensitive little flower I must be:rotfl::rotfl:
The vet yesterday gave me some liquid antibiotic to give to my little Mitzi as giving tablets to her is a challenge. The liquid stuff sounded good in theory - got it home, had a sniff, and it is lemon flavoured. Cats hate and despise citrusy type smells/flavours. It made her retch. So maybe I will have to sacrifice the skin on my hands and arms and get her some tablets after all.
MeanMarie - oh dear, your poor friend. Sounds like she is comfort eating rather than eating to stave off hunger. And as for her finances...she's in a bit of a mess, isn't she? She's lucky to have you as a friend though it must be torture to witness someone play with the self-destruct button. I hope she catches on soon that she needs to exercise a bit of self-discipline to get through this phase of her life.
Big hugs to AussieLass. How are ya now Aussie? You were feeling a bit rough when you posted in yesterday's daily.
Haribo, hope you got back to sleep.
VickyA, I am appalled by your school's behaviour towards you! Push to have all false allegations formally retracted. It's not exactly what you need, but I know you will fight your corner. Good luck with it.
Elona, congratulations to your daugher for her graduation. Clever lady your DD!
I remember that some people mentioned that the site was v.slow yesterday. I think that is because Martin's email goes out on a Tuesday and it goes via the site because that's where people registered for it. Due to thousands and thousands and thousands of subscribers it makes the site v.slow. Well...that's what I think...I have been wrong before!
Sorry, can't think of anything else, have a fabulous Weepsday all.
Snowy

Morning all
another bad night here, the lodger was quiet, but hubby couldn't sleep, so had his light on reading, ah well.
The lodger had a terrible day at school, the kids behaviour was terrible & she has no idea how to cope, she was very upset yesterday evening, but someone phoned & took her out for a couple of hours, so hopefully she'll feel better today. Unfortunately the lack of flexibility in her attitude makes her life extremly difficult. People do suggest strategies for her to try with the children, but she is not prepared to try any of them yet as she is still convinced that the her way is the best.
Another wet day here today, but at least it's mild.
Now I have my shopping I shall work my way through the recipes in the 'How to feed your family etc book'
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Miserable day here. I'm not in a good mood either. Got in to find emails from the boss expecting me to sort out loads of things which aren't my job in his absence. And other cr*ppy emails from people who's heads are exceeding the size of the door frames.
Ordered lots of freebies and vouchers which will hopefully arrive soon.
Dropped the cheque at the solicitors yesterday for the searches to be started on the flat and found a Christmas present for my friend's little one.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Didn't manage to get back on the thread yesterday, hugs to all who are poorly and fed-up.
SNOWY teeth are like that, hopefully they'll settle down soon.
AUSSIE Your bus driver sounds like a right pratt, there really is no reason for people to be so rude  .
Hopefully DS is going back to school today. Slept really well last night so he must be on the mend. OH came home yesterday with man-flu and kept me awake most of the night.
Off to bed later as I'm on nights. Think I might roast a chicken for tea. Have a good day:A xxxx0 -

Shez - found Oxford Streets decs extremley lacking - you cant spot a Santa anywhere either - seems very sad to me. Thats why I think I like the Coke Xmas ads on telly - they have the lovely traditional santa on there.
B Gas man went very late yesterday. He thought he had sorted it but said will ring today coz if its still leaking then he will need to put in a complete new heat exchange unit - guess what - half hour after he left it started leaking again. Will speak to him later hopefully will be able to get the part for friday. This boiler is only 3 years old but he did say that condenser boilers are very troublesome. Oh well have saved myself loads of money being on their Homeplan and at the moment do have heating we can control.
DS at home today not well. DD not 100% either but have persuaded her to go to school - they have a medical room if she feels unwell whilst there - she has had a lot of time off recently. Both schools have got lots of teachers and kids off sick at the moment.
Hopefully he will lie around today as I need to do horrible filing job in my office. After that really need to do some ironing - have ignored it as been getting on with paperwork and it is a jinormous (sp) pile now.
Waiting to hear what time DS' footie match will be Sunday as we really want to go and see the Golden Compass - hopefully will find out tonight so we can get it booked.
Had takeaway last night so chilli and rice for dinner tonight.
Have a great day.
