Afternoon all
JAYWARD You will get really bad days like this. Just take each day as it comes. Sending you lots of light and love:A x0 -
Jayward, I am so sorry you are having a bad time just now. Love and hugs to you and we are all here for you.
Pooky - if you pay my fare down, I will gladly come down to babysit - or bung em on a plane to Scotland and they can have a sleepover!!
CC - check Yahoo!
Aussie - pm'd you!
MeanMarie - hope your friend is OK - sounds like she is in a bit of a mess weight and fiscal wise!
HH - well, can't wait for Aussie to come back on! You are for it. I do feel you have to be a bit more strict on house rules for any future lodger(s). Sorry to hear OH poorly.
dlb - glad you found the list. I am still missing that illusive anniversary card. I will probably find it next June, put it in a safe place for next December and promptly forget where it is!
Thanks for the belated anniversary greetings. Only 4 years to our Ruby!!!!!!!!
I have been keeping up with the reading again but of course have forgotten loads! Hope all the poorlies aren't too bad.
Work a nightmare today with all sorts of IT issues - due to Networks making a c***U* with the server change on Friday. Trainer up from Durham to do a web based course this afternoon and they had pulled the plug on the trainer's machine! Managed to get my dedicated IT guys on the mobile and bless them they hotfooted down and sorted out the problem. We only started 10-15 minutes late but not good when an external trainer is here. Bad enough when it is one of our internal ones when things go wrong!
Yellow stickered quiche with broccoli and pots for tea tonight.
Love to all and will probably check in again later.0 -
Hi Guys!
Hugs to all in need.
Got stuck up the hospital for 3 hrs this morning. I had to stay and see another consultant, then bloods etc etc...why me!!!!
WM has been on and I have another 3 loads tomorrow as its bedding change day. DW has been on and emptied and will go on again in the morning.
Managed to clear a drawer of paperwork. I must come up with an easier way of sorting this as it comes in. ATM, I have a drawer that everything needing to be kept is put in, then once a month I clear and file whats needed etc. Any ideas? I have 2 lots of paperwork places in the lounge and a big filing cabinet in the shed, but somedays I just cant do it. Its not that bad, but could be better:rolleyes:
OH has been filling today around the house. The council put a new front door on about a year ago and OH found out the other day that there is a huge gap around the door where it wasnt fitted properly but they had hid it behind some wood. He has stripped it and filled it all. We were wondering why it was always so cold in the hallway, so hopefully it will warm up now.
Visiting sister at the weekend as its our anniversary and hoping to go out for a meal with some friends on Friday....their treat! They are even providing a car to pick us up and take us home so OH can [STRIKE]get at-arsed [/STRIKE]have a drink:D

....only 10 days till the BIG V:eek:    .....knowing my luck, I'll find out Im pregant next month:rotfl: ...shouldnt jest should I:p
Any, I rambling. Hugs to all.

You sound in better form. What have you been up to to indicate you could be preggie!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good on you! Hope DD OK - she sounds a wonderful girl.
Re the filing - well, we have two places it goes and I am sorry to say we are about a year behind with some of it! No easy answer on that one I am afraid. We do tend to shred unimportant stuff on a daily basis and file the financial stuff right away but we have car stuff etc dating back for ever in the box!

Evenin everyone - glad to see it wasn't just me having problems - i haven't been able to get her for a couple of days.
Well I have given in at w*rk and am taking the first steps towards promotion. They have been asking me for years to to do it and I'e always declined but am now training to deputise for my manager over christmas and then if I like it I can do it more - so far so far good and each day is an extra 7 quid - oh such riches - I don't think it will change my life - mostly cos child tax credit will snatch back the extra.
dd found out that someone has claimed a budgeting loan in her name and NI number but a different address which has led to both her IS and HB being stopped. She has to go back tomorrow but the onus seems to be on her to prove that it was not her loan. If its not sorted tomorrow I will have to take soe time off and go in with her as she finds it all a bit scary.
Aussie I know you asked for the recipe for the nut and courgette (zuchini for those who speak english as a second language) loaf. it was horrid and not worth the effort but if you still want it then pm me - you have been warned
Jayward - things will be up and down for a while but remember that you are the person you need to look after right now. don't stress about the money at the moment until you are able to think clearly about what to do
this week I have paid out £60 on various christmas parties, trips, secret santas and what have yous for me and dd - bah humbug!I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

Oh my goodness
My kitchen guy has just phoned and is coming down next week to help me plan and give me brochures! This is it, I am going there with big disruption in February/March. New kitchen, new kitchen door and new flooring to the front door. Big outlay but a once only in a lifetime. Our current one is 35 years old and he has said new kitchens last 20 years!
Obviously our kids will put the house up for sale in 20+ years time saying 'in need of modernisation'. We only got the bathroom done (and it is not finished) recently.

Evening everyone
Busy day today, Podiatry Clinic with my foot this morning, they adjusted the insole, and said "keep doing the exercises". When I pointed out the injections in Spain had made the improvement, ah well . . . YKWIM.
Found out last Thursday that the washing machine is leaking water from underneath. Reported it, got a call out for next Tuesday, remembering I had already had a week with no washer due to kitchen changes. Wasn't satisfied so back to Insurance Co., who moved it to this morning, to be called this morning to say the engineer is ill, can only do next Tuesday now - Sounds beleiveable doesn't it Gone back to insurance company saying totally unsatisfactory, waiting call back. Tempted to ask them to make me an offer and just get a new one as it is 7 years old.
Then went to the bed shops looking for a Double Ottoman bed (one which lifts up with storage underneath) for the side bedroom. First two looked blank at me and said they didn't have them. The next shop did have one King Size, and told me "I was ahead of my time" they are coming in but not quite there yet:o ! (Story of my life). Quoted around £500:eek: . Left it to go home and check the web (which they would have matched) but found that dearer, so have second, third and fourth thoughts, spoke to them again and can get a good pocket sprung bed with 2 drawers for £250. What makes it even worse is I just bought a Ottoman bed in Spain King Size, and it was £350 at the worst exchange rate we have had 1.39 ish. Rip off Britain strikes again.
Went in one Poundworld, and dumped basket and walked out with the size of the queue. Looks round M&S clothes but nothing tempted me. Collected the digital photo frame I had ordered for DH on-line with discount to pick up at store. (he doesn't know I have got him one and managed to sneak it in right past him). Went to the other Poundworld who had shorter queues. Called at the Range to take a heater back, and ended up getting a venetian blind and bedding for the new bed. Decided if I need to go to town again before Xmas it is get up and be in for 9 and out at 11.
Tomorrow I fill in where we have changed things so DH can emulsion, and start emptying side bedroom.
(((hugs))) to all feeling low. Anyone heard from Amie??
Take care DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
