Meal planning quandry...
Hi! Been implementing a meal planner and shopping budget for past month-and-a-bit, has been going really well, have already cut £40 per month off our original monthly spend and would be happy to cut a total of £60 from that original amount - of course anything else would be a bonus but don't want to dive in and make it too…

Potato storage bag?
Hiya, have been looking at doing an order with Lakeland Ltd for a few bits but I am wondering whether I can do without ... possibly with your help? Have had my eyes on a "potato bag" for a while - "keeps spuds fresher for longer, made from extra thick cotton..." Does anyone know if these are worth having, and if so could I…

Does any one have or know about top-loading washing machines?
I have used one in Canada and it was great - it took a huge wash, and the hottest wash only took about 35 mins from start to finish, and cleaned brilliantly. It had an agitator in the middle that really moved the clothes around. Are the ones sold over here the same? Are they really quick and do a good job? Any advice…

The Bath Blobs are Driving Me Mad! Please Help!
For months I have been trying every potion, scrubber and brush I can find to remove some marks in my modern, plastic bath. I think the marks are oil from aromatherapy bath oils and the blobs seem to have eaten into the plastic. I now have a daily battle of wills with 'the bath blobs' trying out the latest potential…

How do you choose a dishwasher?
Ok now we have a little one on the way, its time to get a dishwasher. But we are at a loss as to how to choose from all the brands. How do you know which are most reliable, easy to repair, water/electricity efficient, space etc? How did you choose your machine and what did you look for? We could go up to £400 max. Thanks…

Cleaning floors (merged threads.)
I have been getting down on my hands and knees and washing the floors with a cloth, some washing up liquid and vinegar, then using a little kitchen roll to dry them and remove streaks. But I'm sick of it. The cloths I use sit for ages until I've got enough to put in the washing machine with the bath mat etc. So I bought a…

Northern Harvest
I usually do my shopping in Tesco or Sainsburys, or sometimes in Aldi, and I am really trying to cut down on impulse buying and waste. I have issues with supermarket shopping in that I don't think the stuff is always as fresh as it might be and I think that the meat is, by and large, awful. I don't have a butcher locally…

Mum cleans her kitchen with clear NBC, and says it does same job, even though we both know its not actually vinegar. Thing is as I'm useing it for fabric…

will I be poisoned?!
I've just made four portions of a cous cous salad to have for my lunches this week but it suddenly occured to me that cous cous might be like rice - not to be left hanging around for fear of bugs. The recipe was cous cous (covered in veg stock), chickpeas, cucumber, onion, orange segments and feta cheese. Does it sound…
