I usually do my shopping in Tesco or Sainsburys, or sometimes in Aldi, and I am really trying to cut down on impulse buying and waste. I have issues with supermarket shopping in that I don't think the stuff is always as fresh as it might be and I think that the meat is, by and large, awful. I don't have a butcher locally who sells really nice meat and the greengrocer sells stuff which looks past its best sometimes too. I have toyed with the idea of organic box deliveries and the like, but the cost is prohibitive to me. Anyway, I came across this website tonight www. northernharvest.co.uk and think that it looks like a good idea and some of the prices are very competitive. The delivery charge is only £2.50 too, which is cheaper than Tescos. I wondered if there is anyone out there in the North West who has used them before and if so, what they thought of them?

The mixed boxes look really good and as you say the prices are competitive too, fingers crossed as I would def try them.

If its the same Kenyon Hall Farm in Warrington, then I can highly recommend it and I think half of cheshire/lancashire can too, with the amount of cars that go in and out of that place. HTH

Last night I placed an internet order and this morning got a phone call from a very friendly person at NH just to confirm that I had included everything and to let me know the delivery time on Friday. I thought this was really good customer service. My order was for veg, fruit, meat and dairy and I was amazed that it totalled less than an equivilant supermarket online order. They do Longley Farm yoghurts, soft cheeses etc and they are absolutely gorgeous but not widely available in my area so that was a plus. I also ordered a leg of lamb which is 3.5lbs and which cost £9 and a 4pound chicken which cost £3.75. I also ordered pullets eggs which were £1 a dozen - I remembered these from my childhood - we always had them and they were lovely, so I hope my kids like them!! I know that £9 for a leg of lamb is not cheap but I usually pay over £15 for an organic one so I was chuffed!!Jane
