Hi
I need two or three of those garden arches you see from time to time, like a metal doorway tht you walk through. I have got a bit carried away with my little greenhouse vegetable plants & now we have to have a bit of a makeshift greenhouse on the allotment to cater for them all. OH is going to make me a sort of polytunnel with a couple of arches & some plastic, so ofcourse now that i want some arches i dont see them cheap anywhere. A couple of weeks back Netto had them for £5.99 each. Does anyone know where i can get them at the moment ?
Thank you
Anastacia
PS Kids are kicking me off the PC but I'll check back later!;)

Last time I checked, this site does free delivery on orders over £15. I got one of the arches from here and it seems sturdy - it screws together.Sealed Pot Challenge 5 - #1742 :j0 -
You can make arches quite cheaply using doweling and water hose, you need two pieces of dowling about 7' long, soak the bottom in wood preservative and dig a hole 12" deep get a bag of quick setting cement from B @ & Q and cement the poles into the ground, then thread the water pipe over the pole so it comes about 2 -3 feet down and forms and arch at the top....... you can use the same method without the cement to make cloches using small bean sticks and drape either netting or polythene over the top, making cloches you push the water pipe down into the ground over the canes to make a hoop.

I got some in Wilkinsons a couple of weeks ago, reduced to £3 each, they'll probable only last for one year but will do untill I can afford something stronger.0

Hi
Thank you.
I dont think I am allowed to concrete things in on the allotment. The rules are stricter than the covenants on my house but i'll try a bit more lateral thinking along these lines iof I cant pick them up cheaply. The idea was to ahve then 12 feet apart with a wooden bar joining them & then cover with plastic. I can then lift off the plastic sectionally to get at my plants.
Just off to try some of your ideas. Thank you
