Is it illegal to pick elderflowers?
Thinking of making my own elderflower cordial is it illegal to pick the flowers off the trees? There are plenty in the countryside and if I did this I would only pick two flowers from one tree at a time.

I just tried to make healthy muffins, with wheatbran, bananas and blueberries but they've come out like stodgy rocks! Is it because I'm using mostly wholewheat flour? (1 cup w/wheat, 1/2 cup white) If a recipe is for the oven can I cook it…

Fridge/Freezers and Power Cuts
We had a 6 hour power cut yesterday. Now I did all the right things and didn't open the fridge or freezer doors, but it made me wonder how long a power cut it would take to ruin the food inside. It doesn't mention this in the manual that came with the fridge/freezer. Any ideas? Thanks Stompa

Grocery budget and school holidays
Hi everyone, I have 4 children who always seem to be starving. The grocery budget will probably go through the roof this 2 week holiday. I'd be interested in knowing what OS do with regards to lunch. The 3 at school take a packed lunch but there is no way that they'll just eat the equivalent at home, I'm sure my children…

Hairdressers' costs
I'm note sure if this is the right board, so please bear with me if it's not. I have quite long hair which doesn't need cut very often. When it does, I go to my local old fashioned hairdresser who charges £11.00 for a Cut and blow dry. Last week I knew I'd be in a rush and wouldn't have time for the junior to do the…
