It suddenly occured to me to use the slow cooker to cook the chicken breasts for tonight's supper (having friends round, she is a good cook and I need to impress :rotfl: )
My slow cooker is really ancient and the instruction book is long gone. I only really use it to make mulled wine nowadays but this forum has inspired me to dust it off.
Question is how long to poach the chicken? Some internet recipes say 8-10 hours on low, others say NEVER cook chicken breasts for more than 5-6 on low! I don't want to cook it in the sauce which will be a pour over.
Anyone with practical experience here?
Edited cos I can't type...

I do chicken thighs and legs (ie with bones in them) for 8-10 hours on low.
i've never done chicken breast, but, if they are boneless, 5 hours should be enough I think - do you have a 'high' setting? You could start it off at 'high' for an hour first, although I think 5 hours will be plenty? "Stay Wonky":D "Stay Wonky":D
