She's paid £1300 for the year based at her home address, and a box was installed. She's now driven it up to uni in Leeds and as requested notified the company that she's…

Double White Lines
Has the law suddenly changed regarding Double White Lines? I am sure it has'nt I was out yesterday and there were lots of people overtaking and crossing them in some very dangerious places (that is why they are there) one car I saw overtook 6 or 7 cars only narrowingly missing an oncoming car.

Uber licence 'not renewed' in London - thoughts?
Personally I think it's a good thing, the black cabs are synonymous with London in the same way the cream cabs are in Berlin, and the yellow cabs in NYC. Also, the 'knowledge' that black cabbies have is second to none and can take years to achieve; why should this be overruled by anyone with a sat-nav? I do think the black…

Free trial zipcar membership - any extra/hidden costs?
I've just subscribed to a free Zipcar trial, and was wondering whether the quoted rates for short rentals (e.g. <1 hour "flex" rentals) were "real life", or whether extra costs were typically incurred? Has anyone tried it out?

Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows ... I have been exempt, due to disability, of paying road tax since March 2016. However, I did not realise I was exempt. I am going to be applying for the exemption with the exemption certificate I have been issued by DWP. Will I be refunded for the period I have been exempt and…

Sign up for MOT reminders! Cautionary tale!
This week's email from Martin had a link to get an email reminder sent for your MOT. What a good idea, I thought, I know ours is due just after the tax, so that's a reminder in itself - renew tax, think "MOT needs doing" - but it won't hurt. (Insurance is a completely different time of year.) Unfortunately putting my…

Car warranty claim problem
Hi, we bought a second hand car from a dealer which included a 6 month warranty. Two and a half months into the warranty the car broke down whilst on holiday, as our only means of transport we had to have the repair done (including payment) before returning home as the car could not be safely used. Once we had returned we…

Rumble when turning engine off with aircon on
Hello! I have a 14 plate Fiesta - the air conditioner in the car seems to be linked to the main air intake so if you turn the aircon on it sounds like the fan is working really hard (which I guess is because it is). Anyway, yesterday I noticed that when I turn the engine off there is this low rumbling vibration - it sounds…
